Lila Chupa-Hoops

Lila Chupa-Hoops started her hoop journey 10 years ago in Paris, France and it has been more than 7 years that she decided to live the full experience as a hoop artist and teacher. Self taught, she built a diverse repertoire of performances, including emblematic vintage circusy acts that she plays all over Europe. Lila won her first title at the Geneva Burlesque Festival in 2015 with her rockabilly hoop tease, mixing her circus skills to the traditional pin-up strip. Burlesque has been the starting point of her career so of course you can see this style quite predominant in her flow and dance. But that's not all !

Inspired by flow arts in general, Lila is attached to a rather technical style and working on various combos from 1 to 6 hoops as well as manipulating a wide range of objects (fans, dragonstaff, whips...). In 2017, she was awarded as European Hooper of the Year, Double Hooper of the Year and Best solo performance video, as a recognition to her work as a teacher, performer and creative artist in the hoop community.

Connect with Lila on Instagram for info on upcoming performances, workshops, tutorials and more.

Hulagran

Christine, aka Hulagran. Hooping makes her happy, keeps her fit, gets her dancing every day and is her secret weapon against the effects of ageing! She spent most of her life thinking that waist hooping would be completely impossible for her and could only be done by magically talented athletic people. She was so wrong! She started hooping soon after she became a Granny, and was totally hooked by the way it felt, and by the excitement of learning something new.

In 2020 we all had to adapt, and she started teaching via Zoom, private pupils, weekly classes for local hoopers and her monthly Hulagran’s Hoop Hours. The Hoop Hours bring together lovely hoopers from all around the world. She shares new moves and fun combos that build into some dancey choreography at the end. She is delighted to be joining the Hoopspin team as an Ambassador.
