Following the success of the 2011 event Manchester Hoop Congress is back with an amazing line up of local and international teachers. This 2 day event will focus on expanding your skills by adding new moves to your trickbase and new techniques to improve flow and movement with the hoop.
The event will consist of 5 workshops with time in between to consolidate what you have learned and skill share and play :)
Saturday night will offer you the opportunity to show off your skills hooping or otherwise at the informal Manchester Showcase (Performances welcomed but not compulsory). Followed by an LED ball
Tickets for the event are £80 for the weekend and include the LED ball.
(Food and accomodation are not provided)

Deposit scheme pay £20 now (non refundable)

This year Manchester Hoop Congress will be running at Parrs Wood Sport Centre.
The venue is close to a large supermarket and several Restaurants.

The venue benefits from being less than 5 minutes walk from East Didsbury Train station which is easily reached from Manchester Picadilly Station.
There are also several buses direct from Manchester City Centre and Oxford Road Station

Gail can't wait to come back to Manchester to teach her workshops in Manchester's brand new Circus space. These workshops are 1.5 hours long and introduce new tricks, moves and concepts, building skills and movement patterns to help your hooping progress to the next level
.... These workshops are trick centred but encourage you to be creative and develop your own style whether you have been hooping 3 weeks or for years.
Workshops can be taken individually or as a progressive series.

1- isolations, extensions and turning.
My new isolation workshop will briefly cover basic isolations, pops and lines then move on to look at 2 handed isolations the extensions that come out of these and how to move isolations around your body to create new patterns of movement. This class will cover all your isolation needs from beginner to advanced exercising your arms and your brains!!
2 - timing and transitions
This workshop is exploring transitioning the hoop from the horizontal to the vertical plane it will cover a myriad of new tricks from circus flourishes to neck spins and weaves and how we can use the speed and timing of these tricks to help smooth out and creat new transitions. This workshop is designed to help new hoopers who only have a few moves and no idea how to string them together, professionals looking for new ways to move and create "flow" and everyone in between.
3) everything elbows
In everything elbows we will play with hooping on the elbows, using elbows to move the hoop around the body before working on elbow stalls, rolling the hoop from the elbows and elbow duck ins (and outs!!!). This workshop will start with the basics and give you the skills you need to master advanced elbow moves or progress if you are already there.
